Description

In the heart of the Mediterranean sea lays an island called Sardinia, rich with ancient history and culture, nature and wildlife, where the sea is not it's only gift.

The trip we offer takes us on a journey into a majestic world confined within the boundaries of theNatural Regional Park of Porto Conte, made of prehistoric megalithic structures known as Nuraghi, taking us for a walk through history among the Medieval towers all the way to the era of modern history of WWII, where we discover the Italo- German fortress.

During our journey we will taste traditionally prepared food and wine of local producers, hike the trails above the sea, wrapped in the sounds and perfumes of nature, cycle the old routes used by those whom fought during the war, sailing the waters of the Natural Reserve to the Cape known as the “Sleeping Giant” where inside we find the famous cave of “Neptune’s Grotto" known for her amazing cathedral of stalactites, stalagmites and salt water lake.

We will guide you for a stroll among the narrow streets of Alghero, also referred to as “Little Barceloneta”, where we will chat with locals and discover the origin of the language unique to Alghero called “Alguerès”, the only town in Sardinia with a strong historical influence of Catalogna.

Welcome to Sardinia! At your arrival, if you wish, we'll take you from the airport to your hotel in Alghero with a private shuttle service. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, perhaps you might choose to Explore the old town and maybe at our headquarter Biking Sardinia, we'll hand you your E-Bike, after adapting it to your needs.

Our first ride start with a transfer by bike to Casa Gioiosa, the headquarter of the Natural Park of Porto Conte where we start the first activity of the tour. One of the most beautiful viewpoint of the Porto Conte Natural Park is the cliff of “Cala Barca”. The path passes through the area that was cultivated by the prisoners during the period of the agricultural penal colony of Tramariglio. The stroll is very simple, four kilometers over a timespan of roughly two and a halve hours. A snack will be served by the local food market of the Natural Park. After lunch, your guided tour with Sara will lead you inside the building of Casa Gioiosa. Riders and bikes return to the accommodation where we will have an hour of rest until the next activity. After a good hour of rest we start with cooking lesson, where you will get the chance to have a better understanding of the fascinating cuisine of Sardinia. you'll go on an expedition with the farmer to source ingredients for the dishes you will cook later, then it's time to take part in a two-hour cooking lesson. Sit down and enjoy what we cooked over a good glass of wine!

Start the morning with a classic Italian breakfast, are you ready for a bike ride adventure? Monica, the host of the agriturismo, will prepare us a snack, don't forget to refill your water bottle with fresh water. An Exciting E-Mountain Bike Tour through the Regional Park of Porto Conte awaits you. Lunch break at Cala Bramassa. Time to get the bikes and head towards Alghero, we arrive after a 30 minutes ride. Join this walking excursion to learn about the history of Alguer, we will start from the meeting point at Scalo Tarantiello and take a tour of the historic center of the town. Dinner at a restaurant on the Bastioni, where a beautiful view of a bay will make your evening such special. After a rich dinner and busy day, you still have time to take a self tour around the shops in town before to go back at your accomodation by shuttle bus service.

What better way to end our tour with a sailing experience in the turquoise water's of the Natural Reserve of Capo Caccia. During the day you will also have the opportunity to snorkel alone and enjoy a rich aperitif and taste a lunch cooked on aboard by our skipper.

Sardinia enjoys plenty of hot sunshine and blue skies throughout the year, especially during the summer months with temperatures sometimes going up to as high as 40 degrees centigrade. There is very low rainfall per , and the sun usually arrives in April and extends into October. Spring and autumn are an ideal time for exploring the richness of Sardinia’s wilderness when the temperatures tend to hover around the low to mid 20 degrees centigrade. At the beginning and end of the season(in March and late October) the weather can be a little less predictable and there could be some cooler days. Please check with our team as to how the trip might be affected at this time, as this can differ from year to year.

As part of your Experience, we create guide and itinerary content that will be made available offline to our guests for the duration of their tour.

Sardinia is a cyclists paradise, with excellent quality tarmac, wide roads, few cars and low urbanisation. You will be enchanted by the gradual undulating roads along the coast, passing watch towers, high cliffs and descending to long sandy beaches. As you leave the coast to ride towards the interior, the terrain becomes more mountainous, with longer gradual climbs, alternating with smooth flowing descents. Very short sections leading to the accommodation could be on gravel roads.
