Thrilling Mountain Biking adventure kicking off from Alghero. This tour is a blend of exhilarating off-road action, historical exploration, and awe-inspiring vistas, catering to all skill levels!
Starting from our headquarter in Alghero we ride 5kms until the first stop at the Old Roman bridge, partially rebuilt in medieval times. This bridge gives us a splendid view on the Calich lagoon, it's awesome to see how many fish populate the pond! Of course we cycle over it! Next stop Nuraghe Palmavera, The Nuraghe is a prehistoric structure that you can only see in Sardinia, you can visit it with a guide (ticket optional), after the visit we climb until Monte Murone where we will enjoy a stunning view of the bay of Alghero! Then we ride until the long beach of Mugoni, through a beautiful single track along the coast. Mugoni is one of the nicest beaches of the area; after a little snack we go ahead to Punta Giglio, inside the natural Regional Park of Porto Conte, Punta Giglio is an amazing reserve. Due to its a strategic position between Porto Conte and Alghero it was an important aircraft base of the army during the last war, we spend some time visiting the old ruines of WWII, there are structures with barracks, aircraft cannons positioning platforms, fortresses, many are hidden inside the bushes. Next stop, Spiaggia Del Lazzaretto, one of the most beautiful beach on the coral coast, there is a restaurant on the beach where to eat delicious surf or turf dishes cooked on the spot. This is an option you can add to the tour with a supplement. To conclude our excursion, near Lazzaretto there are many other small hidden beaches we will see during our rideback to HQ. Asphalt is in general in very good or excellent conditions. Flat tire or rim damages are not a very common issues, and absolutely rarely are related to the quality of asphalt. The only suggestion we always give to minimize the possibility of flat tires is, if you stop to take photos or rest at a side of the road, not to take the bike outside the asphalt bed as, especially in some particular periods of the year such as in spring, it's very common to get a flat tire due to little pins lost by the vegetation. In case of ride in unpaved roads your bikes are well equipped with tubeless tires.
We always recommend helmet wear and safe ride! About car traffic during the weekends in some areas can be annoying. Some of the provincial roads in Alghero during the summer tourist periods are fairly busy. Please be careful while you drive, stay always in line and not in group, follow your touring guide and in case of assistance stop it out of the road lane.

Sardinia enjoys plenty of hot sunshine and blue skies throughout the year, especially during the summer months with temperatures sometimes going up to as high as 40 degrees centigrade. There is very low rainfall per annum, and the sun usually arrives in April and extends into October. Spring and autumn are an ideal time for exploring the richness of Sardinia’s wilderness when the temperatures tend to hover around the low to mid 20 degrees centigrade. At the beginning and end of the season(in March and late October) the weather can be a little less predictable and there could be some cooler days. Please check with our team as to how the trip might be affected at this time, as this can differ from year to year.
