Starting from our headquarters at Biking Sardinia in Via Garibaldi 87, we take the cycle path for about 5km along the coastal road that connects Alghero to Fertillia. Immediately after, our first off-road trail starts. This trail is a fire road that will help you get a little familiar with the bicycle, a preparatory activity to get to a wonderful single track inside the Pine forest of Arenosu.
At the end of the path we find the characteristic Nuragic complex Palmavera where, if you want to, we can arrange a visit to the site. Immediately after we start our first climb with a panoramic view of the Baja di Conte whilst passing by some of the old WW2 Artillery positions and fortifications that to this day lay in ruins. After a short tutorial on how to oparate the bike during decent, we will face the first negative difference in height of the day. For those who are not practical do not worry ...There are alternative trails and unpaved service roads to get you down the mountain safely.
After a few minutes we will be in the beautiful pine forest of Mugoni, here we will cross some of the most evocative coves, to get to the entrance of Punta Giglio, a naturalistic area that is part of the Porto Conte Regional Park area.
The beauty of this promontory will leave you breathless, it is among the most enchanting places not only of the Sardinian North-West but of the whole island.
