If you are looking for a place to spend your holidays by the sea in Sardinia, Stintino is certainly the right destination.
The town was born as a fishing village in the 1800s and later became famous for the now highly visited, white and soft Pelosa beach. Diving and swimming in its clear shallow waters, that stretch for kilometers, will be a fantastic experience. Here you can snorkel and spot unique aquatic species and plants, or reach the island of La Pelosetta and its Spanish Tower with an easy swim.
When you leave the water, just just can relax on the towel and enjoy the view: the flat sea hugs the unmistakable silhouette of the Asinara Island. This is a reserve of rare beauty that, from the depths to the hinterland, preserves precious natural treasures and architectures rich in history.
From Stintino it’s possible to take a ferry and discover its suggestive landscape, visit the famous former maximum security prison, the marine animal recovery center and swim in the numerous and renowned coves, such as Cala Reale and Cala D'Oliva. But La Pelosa is not the only beach that makes this strip of land called Stintino fascinating. Not far away there are many coves that to experience and see in Sardinia, such as Le Saline or Ezzi Mannu, with the shimmering and smooth white pebbles that characterize their beaches.
