Starting from our headquarters at Biking Sardinia, we'll ride on the cycle path for 5km along the charming coastal road that connects Alghero to Fertillia. With the blue of the sea and the lagoon of Calich in the background, we will pause for a moment to admire the ancient Roman Bridge, which was partially rebuilt during the medieval era. This bridge gives us a splendid view over the lagoon, it's awesome to see how many fish populate the pond! Of course we will cycle over it! After this, our first off-road trail starts! But don't worry, this trail is just a fire road that will help you get used to the bike before the ride on a wonderful single track inside the Pine forest of Arenosu. At the end of the path we find the characteristic Nuragic complex Palmavera where, if you want to, we can arrange a visit to the site (ticket optional). The Nuraghe is a prehistoric structure that you can only see in Sardinia. After the visit we climb up Monte Murone where we will enjoy a stunning view of the bay! Then we follow the ride until Mugoni beach, through a beautiful single track along the coast. Mugoni is one of the nicest beaches of Alghero and here, taking advantage of the pine forest and the landscape, we could have a snack. Ready? After this stop we go ahead to Punta Giglio, inside the natural Regional Park of Porto Conte. Punta Giglio is an amazing reserve that, due to its strategic position between Porto Conte and Alghero it was an important aircraft base of the army during the last war. We spend a little time visit the old ruines of WWII: there are structures with barracks, aircraft cannons positioning platforms, fortress, many are hidden inside the green bushes. The beauty of the Punta Giglio promontory will leave you breathless, especially to think that you have ride until you reach one of the most enchanting places in all of Sardinia! Once we reach the barracks, we will be about 80m above the sea and the WOW effect is guaranteed. So, now catch your breath, relax and enjoy the wonder of the sun setting on the horizon. If you want, during the sunset, you can also opt to drink or eat something at Rifugio di Mare Restaurant. This tour is always adaptable for all the customers, we have a solution for everyone, from easy cycling in singletracks to really nice trails for Mtb riders, we can change the tour by your skills!

Sardinia enjoys plenty of hot sunshine and blue skies throughout the year, especially during the summer months with temperatures sometimes going up to as high as 40 degrees centigrade. There is very low rainfall per annum, and the sun usually arrives in April and extends into October. Spring and autumn are an ideal time for exploring the richness of Sardinia’s wilderness when the temperatures tend to hover around the low to mid 20 degrees centigrade. At the beginning and end of the season(in March and late October) the weather can be a little less predictable and there could be some cooler days. Please check with our team as to how the trip might be affected at this time, as this can differ from year to year.

Generally there is low traffic. However, especially during the weekends in some areas the traffic can be annoying. Some of the provincial roads in Alghero during the summer tourist periods are fairly busy. Please be careful while you drive, stay always in line and not in group, follow your touring guide and in case of assistance stop it out of the road lane

Asphalt is in general in very good or excellent conditions. Flat tire or rim damages are not a very common issues, and absolutely rarely are related to the quality of asphalt. The only suggestion we always give to minimize the possibility of flat tires is, if you stop to take photos or rest at a side of the road, not to take the bike outside the asphalt bed as, especially in some particular periods of the year such as in spring, it's very common to get a flat tire due to little pins lost by the vegetation. In case of ride in unpaved roads your bikes are well equipped with tubeless tires

We always recommend helmet wear and safe ride! For further details about Biking Safety Rules, please follow this link: Biking Safety Rules About water: in the agriturismo tap water is drinkable and in the public fountains as well, in other cases ask your tour leader.
