Safety Measures

For the safety and well-being of all participants, wearing a helmet is mandatory on all bike excursions. Helmets are provided by us and must be worn at all times while riding.

Participants must be in good physical health and capable of safely riding a bicycle for the duration of the excursion. By taking part in the activity, customers confirm that they do not have medical conditions that could put themselves or others at risk while cycling.

Appropriate footwear and suitable outdoor clothing are also required. Closed-toe shoes with good grip are essential to ensure proper bike control and reduce the risk of injury. Clothing should be comfortable, weather-appropriate, and suitable for physical activity, allowing freedom of movement and protection from sun, wind, or changing weather conditions.

For safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse participation to any customer who is not in adequate health, is dressed inappropriately, or is wearing unsuitable footwear, as this may compromise personal safety, group safety, and the overall riding experience.

By joining the excursion, participants acknowledge and agree to comply with these safety requirements, which are designed to ensure a safe, responsible, and enjoyable cycling experience for everyone.

About

There is an island in the Mediterranean called Sardinia with an ancient history and culture, rich of nature and wildlife, where the sea is not only its gift.

This trip take you in a small world inside the Natural Regional Park of Porto Conte, made of prehistoric megalithic known as Nuraghi, walking among the Medieval towers until our modern history of the WWII, where we discover the Italian and German fortress. During our excursion we taste the food and wine of local producers, wrapped in the sounds and perfumes of nature, bike in the old routes of the last war, sail in the Natural Reserve to the Cape known as the “Sleeping Giant” where inside we find the famous stalactite cave of “Neptune’s Grotto".

09:15am - Meet and Greet

Our first ride start with a transfer by bike Capo Caccia, where we start the visit the Neptune's Grotto.

11:15am - Neptune's Grotto Visit (optional)

This is the trip inside the belly of the Sleeping Giant,  you are ready to discover its beauty inside it. The Grotto’s are one of the largest marine caves in Italy and one of the most captivating gems of nature in the Mediterranean. The grotto was formed about two million years ago: inside, you will see rooms with astounding karst formations of stalactites and stalagmites, a white sandy beach and a huge underground lake.

A line of columns nine metres high will take you to the crystal clear salty waters of Lake La Marmora, one hundred metres long at the maximum point and nine metres deep. From here, you will begin to see a lovely sandy beach, once completely covered in pebbles. Standing in the centre, there is a holy water spring, a monumental stalagmite on top of which there are little basins that act as a source of drinking water for birds nesting nearby. On the bottom of the lake, a distinctive stalagmite formation called the ‘Christmas tree’ stands out between large flowstones and calcitic festoons.

02:00pm - Lunch at the Natural Park of Porto Conte (optional)

Lunch will be served by the local food store of the Natural Park.

03:30pm - Visit at the Musem of the Natural Regional Park of Porto Conte (optional)

After lunch, your guided tour follows inside the building of Casa Gioiosa.

The headquarter of the natural Park is a beautiful, completely restored, building that in the past was a jail, the agricultural penal colony of Tramariglio locality. Now it hosts a little botanic garden, the offices of the administrative staff of the Park and a series of museums and exhibition rooms, aimed at showing the beauty and telling the history of the territory of the natural Park of Porto Conte.

Bike Transfer to Punta Giglio - 10km - 260mt uphill (optional)

Riders get your bikes and go to visit the Sea Refuge at Punta Giglio, a cliff overlooking the sea and, around it, the scents of the Mediterranean. In this scenario it is easy to get lost in intense emotions and sensations.

Here you can have time to rest a while before to return at Alghero.
